Come enjoy a weekend of learning about period agriculture, fiber arts and production, and brew your favorite period beverages! As before, FFFF will be a workshop, hands-on setting which is being hosted at Lady Caelain and Lord Seamus’s farm in Central VA. There will be sheep to shear, beverages to brew, plants and seeds to exchange, crops to discuss, wool to spin and weave!
There will be areas dedicated to each of the specific subjects, with a very open schedule that allows for everyone to come and go to the different areas at their leisure and try everything. Plant and Seed Exchange – Bring temporarily potted plants, or extra seeds to share with others, and take some home too! Yarn Destash – Bring a skein, take a skein. Clear out your stash and enable your fellow yarn hoarders at the same time! Plus, any extra yarn left at the end of the event will be donated to the local women’s shelter. Brewing – Lord Seamus will be brewing things all day long. Shearing – There will be a shearing and then skirting demonstration, time TBA. Spinning – There will be a spinning solar all day. Farming – There will be a henkeeping class, and other animal husbandry discussions.
Friday evening Traveller’s Fare will be available from 7-10pm under the big oak tree. Saturday’s hearty lunch will be a fee of $5 per person. Saturday evening there will be a potluck dinner starting at 7pm under the big oak tree. Bring a dish that will serve about 6 to 8 people please. Some room can be made in the farmhouse for refridgerated things, just ask for instructions when you check in.
Primitive camping is available. A simple Traveller’s Fare meal on Friday evening is included in the camping fee.
