The Beginning: Before Caer Mear
History begins in California at a gathering of lords and ladies who planned a fun medieval themed May Day in 1966. They had a tournament, a knighting, and a feast. This first event on May 1, 1966 became our new years day, Anno Societatis 1 (AS 1) and two years later the formal name Society for Creative Anacronism was registered. Within ten years this small gathering grew into the West and East Kingdoms. As part of the East Kingdom, we were in the middle of the vast lands called the Confederation of the Stone Wall. No one would ever admit this (it is part of a great story) because this region created three Kings of the East, the East Kingdom started to believe that we were ready to stand on our own and created the Principality of Atlantia. What follows is the long and great history of our Barony. Please let the webminister know of any additions, corrections, errors, omissions, etc...
